Founded in 2015, Aphrodite’s Apothecary was created with a simple mission: to help beautify every sphere of your life. Each of our products is thoughtfully designed to enhance your well-being while looking great on display, too! What began with a line of handmade jewelry and body lotions soon evolved into something far greater. We discovered that beauty isn’t just skin-deep; it’s an every day act of magic.
Today, our collection has expanded to include luxury candles inspired by the Gods, custom astrology jewelry, as well as beauty and ritual items infused with intention. Every creation is handcrafted to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary by blending myth, magic, and good design to bring you products you'll not only love but you'll be proud to display on your shelf when company comes over.
Becoming Aromatheá
After nearly a decade of growth and transformation, Aphrodite decided it was time to pass the torch. In 2026, Aphrodite’s Apothecary will become Aromatheá—a new name that honors our roots while allow us to expand our creativity and offerings.
The new name reflects the artistry and intention behind everything we create: aroma for scent and atmosphere, theá (Greek for “goddess”) for connection to the mythic and the divine. Together, they capture our devotion to creating meaningful, quality, handcrafted goods that celebrate beauty and magic in its myriad of forms.
Meet the Maker
Joshua Spellman, founder and creator, brings a unique blend of artistry and intellect to everything he makes. A professional librarian with formal archaeology training, Joshua has built his career around the belief that beauty and knowledge are two sides of the same coin. His work bridges the worlds of art and science, transforming ancient inspiration into modern magic.
From developing each fragrance blend to engraving jewelry designs himself, Joshua ensures every piece carries both craftsmanship and meaning. His goal is simple yet powerful: to make the mystical accessible by helping others find beauty and magic in the everyday.
