Who is Poseidon?

God of the sea, earthquakes, and horses, Poseidon possesses the duality of the same - calm and generous or fierce and untamable. When the Olympians overthrew the Titans, the dominions of the Earth was split amongst the three brothers Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. Zeus ruled the skies, Hades the Underworld, and Poseidon the mighty oceans.

    Maybe the sexiest candle I own?

    You remember that awful mass market candle that everyone joked smelled like the dream of a sexy lumberjack? This smells like the dream of a hunky sailor, ready to sweep you up in his arms.

    What I love about Aphrodite's Apothecary is the way that all the candles are evocative without dipping into one note parody. Poseidon is well balanced, centering, and has a strongly masculine energy with subtleties that gives it character.

    Please, please, please give this one a shot! It's wonderful.

    So Fresh. So clean.

    I reached out about this candle prior to buying because I have been searching for a good sea salt fragrance. Josh came through with good feedback about the cleaner ocean vibes of the fragrance. I pulled the trigger and I am so happy I did! The musk/cardamom are definitely subtle in the best way. If you love the smell of an ocean breeze through your vacation resort window… this is it. I feel so refreshed.

    Poseidon smells amazing! And I can't say enough great things about the customer service. The first time I ordered, Joshua emailed to let me know there was a shipping delay because of a storm. When I let him know one of the candles from my first order arrived broken, he reached out immediately and provided a replacement alongside my new order.
